Here is a picture from Hannah’s baby shower– Left to right: Ashley Willett, William & Gin, Emily Disney and Hannah. These are the hostesses!

Below, the spread. I made the cupcakes from scratch (Almond Maple) and Emily made the mini-cheesecakes. It was so fun!

We got to spend our anniversary weekend at Wild Dunes Beach resort on the Isle of Palms. A little pasty… ha. So much fun though!

Got to see Elizabeth…

And of course, Mark found something risky to do…

lauren and adam filipponi invited us along on their williamsburg vacation weekend! this is just outside of the candy store where i obviously bought a caramel and cashew covered apple!

the new dining room wall! we have been working on this project for a while, and it’s probably going to be an over-time type of thing. a few shots from israel, our niece and nephews, friends, siblings. still a few to go, but i was itchy to get it up on the wall!

into cupcakes lately. these are graham cracker key lime pie cupcakes with key lime cream cheese frosting. made for jean waugh for her b-day yesterday!

week 2.

sidney and jonathan are best friends, especially after they spent this week together. the only trouble is s. thinks j. is a puppy, and j. thinks the best way to get rid of s. is to bat his hands at her. unfortunately, that is what mark does to play with the pup. they’ll learn. it’s fun to watch them grow together.

the most perfect view of winston-salem is when you come in from the east on route 421 (business 40). you go over a hill and just when you pass the martin luther king jr. boulevard exit, this is the view at night. we have ogled over it for a few years now, and finally this past sunday night figured out how to set the camera, drove over there, got off, came back the other direction, and pulled onto the shoulder. ginny crawled through the moon roof and got this perfect shot.

kyle came and spent the weekend with us to hang out and get over the flu. no hair! they ate milkshakes and cheeseburgers and kyle did laundry and slept a lot.

margaritas are a regular at our house. tequila, margarita mix, a splash of o.j., a splash of diet tonic, and a wedge of lime. salted, of course, and served in tervis tumblers with flip flops on the side. geez, just noticed the wine in the background. i promise we aren’t drunks!

mark is will’s protege. it is the best when w. realizes that ‘unka mawk’ is in the house. i don’t think there’s anything that makes him happier than m. that face is unbeatable.  fun to be with rudnickes and evans in snow shoe this week!

the first time we have ever skiied together! (is that how you spell ‘skiied?’)

week one.

week one of the framing project. love you, moms.

valentine’s day, a day late. one dozen homemade red velvet cupcakes

for mark, who loves sweets and truly epitomizes the old saying,

“the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.”

the duvet cover is in the wash, and the down comforter looked so fluffy

you could eat it with a spoon. the light comes into the house at four o’clock

in this way, fills the whole hardwood floored thing with glorious dancing light.

sid’s baby face is gone, and she looks like a dog now.
