About

what is this?      the framing project is about giving two wonderful, creative, faithful moms a glimpse into the life of their kids that live far, far away.  joyce and claire, you have spent your whole lives framing us to succeed, to go off and to love well. and we want to let you see it happen, week by week, even if you can’t see us week by week.

how did it begin?       when we found out that mark’s mom, joyce, was diagnosed with macular degeneration, we began to consider this gift of sight that we have been given. it is a gift that allows us to see beautiful, terrible, true, precious, shocking, honest things. it is possible that this degeneration will eventually lead to blindness, a fact that has caused us to stop and appreciate the things we see. recently, ginny’s mom, claire, made a comment about wishing she could see our lives day by day, rather than the once every few months when she visits or we meet at the beach.

why ‘the framing project’?           mamas, we want to allow you to see frames of our life. the simple, sweet, oftentimes chaotic frames of our days, so that you don’t miss anything.  we will take pictures with ginny’s nikon d-40 throughout the week and post on fridays. this way, you get to be part of our week!

this is because we love our moms.

  1. I cannot tell you what this means to me. Truly, this is the most precious gift you could ever conceptualize and do for us, your mothers. How creative and loving you both are. God is so very generous. Thank you for taking the time. Your lives are so full; this is a sacfificial gift and I love you/ thank you from the depths.
